random life...

I love this picture of me and Mom. Love it to bits. :)
My new wall of random things, and my $13 jeans from Gap...
I recently got a bookcase from IKEA... it was so easy to put together and it looks dashing in my room. Now I have a place for all of my tween fantasy favorites, random old books and new loves, like that bright orange baby on the left. And, general note, Dead Until Dark does not belong to me, nor have I read it.... Erin....

I've started knitting a silky tank top for myself. :o I know, crazy. It's made of bamboo silk, this lovely green... I hope the pattern works out well.
I had no idea that self portraits would be possible at arms' length with the 50mm + the 1D crop factor, whatever it is. But they are. Face shots, anyway.

Ooo, and last but not least, I've enrolled in a class at Good Dirt (pottery place). Fun funnnn, it's about eight classes for learning how to use a wheel. I'm excited. Squee!

a good day

Today was a good day, even if I did forget to do some things. I ended up with two pairs of jeans from the Gap, both marked down really low... got to see Erin in all her pregnant glory, eat some Erin-made cheesecake and browse through an SAT prep book... and then ramen noodles on the porch after sundown. :)

new lens

Hello, people! Been awhile since I lasted updated my blog, unfortunately. However, there were a few cool days this week and that triggered my blogging drive. I was without a lens for a while, since I never actually owned one. I've been borrowing... But I decided to buy one - a Canon 50mm f/1.4. It's nice for the money, I'm enjoying it.

This one of my favorite pics I have taken in awhile:
Me and Henry have started a game in the sandbox. We make various baked goods out of sand, put them in the "oven," which we turn on by spinning the sand wheel toy. Then, when they are "ding-ding-ding" done, we scoop them out with a Candy Land playing card and gobble them up like Cookie Monster. :) He's making cookie dough in these pics:
Doesn't he look so grown up?! Gosh. I'm sure he wanted me to stop taking pics ("uh-uh-uh" meaning "up," which means "stop what your doing and follow me!")
Now that I have a lens of my own, I am planning on taking pics everyday, at least a few. We shall see. My ultimate goals for my pics? Making books. Also want to experiment with film... I took most of a roll when we set out on a picnic the other day - gonna develop it and see if any of it turned out worth a darn. :)

Also, for those of you wondering, I did not finish up my school in time for my deadline. It makes me feel pretty disappointed with myself, but I guessed I tried as hard as I could try. Half of me doesn't give a care about school or college, not even a cent, but the other half wants to progress. I guess college is the next step in our society, isn't it? Peers and "education" and putting time into degrees that, in all likelihood, won't be utilized. I guess I should try it before take it from my list of Things That Feel Useless, to my list of Things That Are Useless (For Me, Anyway).

Psh. And all I ever wanted to do was work on a Starship as a sexy half-Borg or a Helmsman. That always seemed like fun.
