in black and white

Last year, we took some beautiful pics of the farmland around Danielsville... The rain made last year's pics so foggy and beautiful. This year it was dry and cloudy, so we weren't quite as inspired on our trip yesterday. We'll have to go again in December... Meanwhile, these are some shots from yesterday! I thought it would be nice to do a completely black and white post, so here are the monochrome images. I'll post the colors shots sometime! :)

All shot using my Canon 1D Mark II; the first half with my 50mm, the second half with Logan's 35mm. All shot at f/2.0 or lower. :)

Coming up next: Thanksgiving & some more countryside shots from a walk! I know, so exciting you can barely stand it.

Lucy

Warning: This whole post is Lucy. She toddled around the yard today like a pro, picking up leaves and munching on crackers. So I took some photos of her. That is, if you count "some photos" as a lot of photos. :)

So dirty, but so cute!

The myrtle berry things are already dried and cracking. Remember the myrtle pic from this blog post? (It's in the middle of the page...)

That's then end of our afternoon escapade in the yard. :) Look at that bokeh in the last image, of all the fallen leaves. Bloody gorgeous. I think it was shot at 1.4 or 2.0...

I need to figure out what to do with the video I have on my phone (it's adding up). I should make something soon.

Anyway, happy autumn again!

11-11-11

Today was so beautiful, and on top of that, it was 11-11-11. So I felt inspired and obligated to take photos... The light was so clear, crisp and bright this morning/afternoon. The house was lit up with it. From the kitchen, the blinds striped the floor with shadows and light, and the sun was making ordinary things glow.

I love when the light changes in the fall, and midday sun is no longer harsh and dry, but vivid and lovely.

The sky in October and November is absolutely stunning in Georgia. I don't know about other regions, but here the sky is a perfect blue when the sun is out.

We made vegetable soup tonight! It was quite good. :)

Dinner and homework and chatting with Logan absorbed most of the day (in a good way). Tomorrow will involve English homework, putting away the pile of laundry that is too large for just one small girl, some neglected computer work... :) I'll reserve next semester for an impossible list of things to do -- attempting eighteen hours in the spring!

I've been thinking about what to do. By "do," I mean how to proceed with my life, the next step, the thing to shoot for. Maybe I'll write a post about it soon... Writing things out helps me a lot. Hmm.

Anyway, I hope you had a lovely November 11th of 2011, and that tomorrow is surprisingly interesting (in a good way) for you. :)

Hopefully I'll write again soon!
