windy

Today was really, really windy. A whipping wind, but it was such a warm sun - I wore a tank top. I even got a bit of a sunburn from lying around on our picnic blanket, basking. It was so lovely.

My camera hasn't been working for a few months - the shutter assembly was defective (according to Canon) - and I've only just had it back in my hands, in working order. I had forgotten how small the viewfinder and back screen are. Using this camera is like a mix between using film and digital - there is still quite a bit of mystery as to how your picture is going to look later, because all you can see of a preview is thumbnail-sized.

I love it, regardless.

I should probably mention that the picture above on the left is of a make-shift hammock. I've been making sheet hammocks since I was old enough to tie. Usually we made them on our Quadro, but we've been known to use trees with low branches and the frame of our large trampoline. I'm a bit too big for the trampoline frame now, so replacing our tree swing with a sheet hammock was my only option today. (There is a blanket inside to illustrate the shape - too windy without a weight!)

The grass is getting greener so rapidly. We can see the change each time we go for walks. For the most part, wild onions are making the color change, but there are also those little purple flowers and regular grass. Quinn even found a bright yellow dandelion.

Mom thought it would be fun if Henry and I went "exploring." He liked that idea, so we took the egg basket and found random objects around the yard. A chicken feather, a leaf, a pecan, a rock, and a dandelion. Eggs added later. :)

Now that Blogger has fixed up their post editor - pics can be enlarged with ONE click, not seventy-two changes to the HTML - I'm going to continue blogging regularly. I already have lots of pics that I want to post here. So, I'll be back tomorrow with at least one picture for you.
