wallpapery

So I got a bit bored tonight. I'm sure I had some more important things to be doing with my time (like finishing some homework exams, considering I have [insert really large number here] left to do before graduating...). Anyway, I started playing on Illustrator because the last desktop I made was from February. O.O I'm a naughty graphic artist, yes.

Here is what I came up with... First I started really simple. Meet Miss Dots:

Then I started playing with some symbols (which are just like vectors or something, I'm not really sure what the definition is, but Illustrator comes with dozens...)

And then I brought out the whole army. o.o CLICK TO ENLARGE, s'il vous plaƮt!

So I hope you enjoy. Use whichever you like, please don't deface them, and that's about it. :) I want to just disclaim for a minute, though: I didn't create a single stitch of any of these graphics that were used to make the graphics. XD These are all Illustrator symbol packs/brushes. All I did was arrange, color & then I edited the last one in Photoshop to make it look a little cooler.

I think I may soon make something a little more... shall we say, pretty? Yes.

On a random thought, eating a Butter Pecan ice cream cone is perilous. This is because I always want to eat the praline and so I take these precarious bites about of the cone, which for one, makes the whole thing disappear more quickly, for another it hurts my teeth, and for a third, it then gives me a bit of brain freeze. Those darn pralines.

Another random thought: I'm going to SCAD in just a week! Wow. I'm a little scared, I think... :P

I think I've been sitting here for about four hours straight (like I haven't even gotten up?), and I also don't think I've been breathing properly. For no good reason, I just do that sometimes, I breathe really shallow. I bet you can't even hear me if you tried to listen to me breathe, you know, in person (which would be odd, I know) and some people might think I was a zombie or something.

So now I'm going to go to bed.

Ttyl,
- caroline

P.S. Next time I post (you know, when there will be hovercrafts and such) I will have learned how to say goodnight in French! Though I have a hunch that it's like "bonsoir," or something.

*snicker*

Let me describe the scene. Sara is sitting on a picnic bench that is used to block Henry from falling off of the porch, trying on her new pair of shoes from Rack Room. Quinn is watching. The ceramic, nameless dog by the door is watching. Henry is running around naked, albeit for his little brown cow shoes, sticking one hand in a pot of dirt and the other crotchwise.

And I'm taking pictures.

burnt offerings

Hi there.

I don't know why, but I've suddenly felt like blogging.

Yesterday I walked around outside with the Mark II, which was really fun. Our neighbor's storage barn burned down last month and the ruins are still sitting around. Here are some of the things that I found...

A very old GQ magazine, from a time when men wore too-big suede jackets, beige turtlenecks and tweed pants.

A mighty collection of hotel bar soaps. This is just a few of them - there had to be hundreds.

I love this. Butt squared. It was in a PC World magazine, no idea why it says Butt squared...

An ashy broom.

Lots of cigar boxes.

A charred tree.

A charred copy of the Tales of Edgar Allan Poe, which is cool.

Someone had attempted to make it into a box of sorts, you know the kind that you stick liquor in...

Quinn found a tiny apple by the apple tree. I like the detail in his skin, all ashy. Isn't that depth of field like crazy? It's at 1.8.

So, after we ransacked the ruins, we investigated our own yard (which is rather boring, after four years of taking the same pictures.) But we did find wild roses:

I absolutely did not edit the flowers in this picture. I give you my word that it is straight from the camera - all I did to this picture was darken the background.

And honeysuckle... Isn't it funny, how it's so perfectly centered, two on the right and two on the left, and just sitting there away from it's family...

This is a bluebird. You can actually see its colors, in the original, full-sized image, if you zoom up. Very impressive.

I think this chicken picture is my favorite, from today. I rather love it!

This is a tropical cake that Quinn made yesterday. It's really delicious, with pineapple, cranberries, pecans and maybe something else, but I can't really remember.

By the way, Jamie, I LOVE my hula-hoop.

This is a shot of rain. It started to sprinkle, so I jacked the ISO up to 3200 and the shutter speed up to 8000 and froze the raindrops. It looks more like snow, though, doesn't it?

So that's it, for this post, ladies and gentlemen. (Though, mostly ladies, I believe...)
I bid you good day. :)

- Making videos and then watching them. ;D
- Mint chocolate chip ice cream
- Flash cards (the old school ones, the question/answer ones that are made out of note cards!)
- Gerald Morris books
- Blog comments!

something i found

I took this picture back in... January, maybe? Just thought it was cool...

Let me explain what the heck is going on here:

The picture is actually of my computer screen, where Photobooth was showing my image, and the sunset was reflected on the screen. So... Does that make sense?

happy earth day

I have a funny story to share with my blog stalkers. I owe them a laugh, at least, for neglecting my blog for a month.

Once upon a time, Uncle Quinn was playing with the H-Man, otherwise known as Henry. Mom & Sara were working and I was neglecting any and all duties, as usual. Henry is a high-maintenance kid, you know, lots of entertaining must be done at all times. I had started a bit of a game with this ball:

The game was to put an object in its poor deflated indentation, then to simultaneously smack the sides to make the object pop into the sky. So, of course, Quinn thought this was grand and added his more violent touch. He put my little plush TY puppy in the ball and... this is what happened:

A closer look...

I mean, how funny is that? She just soared up and landed smack dab on a fan blade. And posed all cute and everything! Henry didn't get it for a while, but when he finally saw her he thought it was all very fun.

This poor pup is nameless at the moment. I can't remember her name!! I mean, I named her, for heaven's sake. It might be Daisy. But I don't know.

So that's my funny story. Here is a photograph of spring for you, in honor of Earth's special day. Which is every day. But especially today. :D

This is straight from the camera. No tampering! Isn't it awesome?

Oh, yes, and I am asked to give Mum credit for telling us to *look* at the sky... XD

Ogres are like onions...

What, you mean they stink and make you cry?

Sometimes Shrek pops into my head. I don't even like Shrek. But I dig the quote.

The Booga Booga Lemon Monster

This is my Booga Booga Lemon Monster. Starring Quinn as the Booga Booga's voice, and me as it's eyes and goatee. :D>

I promise we weren't bored; on the contrary, I was cutting vegetables and washing dishes. Whoo.
