I joined at 365 Photos Challenge on Flickr. I have never been able to keep up with one, and I started this four months late, but so far I've been keeping up. It's been about... five days. :P Today's prompt was "green" and I just couldn't take one image, so I put up nine. However, there were even more, so I wanted to post the rest here...

We found the other parts of the opossum today. They were in the next field over - some hip bones, ribs, and the skull. Eughhhh.

I started scanning old photos today. There are nineteen years to go through, which is interesting, because I will be nineteen in May. That's strange, isn't it... There are pictures from 1981 to 2000... Then the digital age consuuuumed us. :P I love looking at old photos, absolutely love it. I'm only scanning my favorites, the ones that make me smile, etc. So far I've scanned 67 photos, and only gone through my 1981 stack and half of my 1982 stack. Whew. Sneak peek:

So guys. It's September. The sky knows that, even if you're a little behind on the times. It's been so amazing and blue the past few days, and the nights all chilly and yum. Now, I'm not looking forward to winter at all, but I could live in September and October year around.

The light was so pretty that evening, all even and clear. Quinn took pics of me and Mom... I liked these.
That is my beloved new sweatshirt. From the Gap. It's awesome. Even Quinn wants to wear it.

Septembre est quand je veux écriser à la blog...

Translation: September is when I like to write on the blog...

It's the truth; come September, I'm in the mood to blog. It's been quite a while since my last post - before SCAD and... Okay, so I haven't really done much between now and then. However, for those of you who I haven't talked with since SCAD, I had a really great time, absolutely LOVED my Figure Drawing class, met some pretty awesome people and learned tons.

Other than that, I finished Algebra I with the help of Erin (thank you *so* much), I finished up American Lit, I'm nearly finished with four other school subjects, and I bought a shiny new computer. :)

So today I was rummaging around in my shiny new computer and I remembered that I had never edited my gazillion pictures from Charleston, SC. Sara, Mom, Quinn, Henry and I went there for a weekend in July on an engagement shoot - it was lovely. I took 700 pictures, not including the engagement shoot. Go me!

This is the third time in my life that I have seen the ocean. I think its gorgeous.



This is called a tilt-shift photo. Thanks to a fantastic action by Totally Rad Actions, I can make tilt-shift whenever I please...

So I got a bit bored tonight. I'm sure I had some more important things to be doing with my time (like finishing some homework exams, considering I have [insert really large number here] left to do before graduating...). Anyway, I started playing on Illustrator because the last desktop I made was from February. O.O I'm a naughty graphic artist, yes.

Here is what I came up with... First I started really simple. Meet Miss Dots:



Then I started playing with some symbols (which are just like vectors or something, I'm not really sure what the definition is, but Illustrator comes with dozens...)



And then I brought out the whole army. o.o CLICK TO ENLARGE, s'il vous plaît!



So I hope you enjoy. Use whichever you like, please don't deface them, and that's about it. :) I want to just disclaim for a minute, though: I didn't create a single stitch of any of these graphics that were used to make the graphics. XD These are all Illustrator symbol packs/brushes. All I did was arrange, color & then I edited the last one in Photoshop to make it look a little cooler.

I think I may soon make something a little more... shall we say, pretty? Yes.

On a random thought, eating a Butter Pecan ice cream cone is perilous. This is because I always want to eat the praline and so I take these precarious bites about of the cone, which for one, makes the whole thing disappear more quickly, for another it hurts my teeth, and for a third, it then gives me a bit of brain freeze. Those darn pralines.

Another random thought: I'm going to SCAD in just a week! Wow. I'm a little scared, I think... :P

I think I've been sitting here for about four hours straight (like I haven't even gotten up?), and I also don't think I've been breathing properly. For no good reason, I just do that sometimes, I breathe really shallow. I bet you can't even hear me if you tried to listen to me breathe, you know, in person (which would be odd, I know) and some people might think I was a zombie or something.

So now I'm going to go to bed.

Let me explain what the heck is going on here:

The picture is actually of my computer screen, where Photobooth was showing my image, and the sunset was reflected on the screen. So... Does that make sense?

snow :: part I

Salut! It's been a very long time since my last post and I apologize for my lack of attention. My posts seem to be picking up a pattern of beginning with "it's been a long time." I was sick for more than a week - I guess it's something you might call the flu? Of course, this is not the reason I've been neglecting my blog, but it does sound very relevant. I didn't really get out of bed for a week, which was just horrible! All I kept saying was "there's crumbs in my bed!" because of all the toast I ate there.

And, oddly enough, I was all unlucky. Soon after I became ill (teehee) we get lots of beautiful snow that needs its picture taken, and where am I? I'm glued to my bed while it's snowing very gorgeously outside my windows... But fear not, I did bundle up and went out to take pictures. However, there is no argument that a sprite, happy Caroline might have taken a lovely selection of pictures, versus the coughy, sluggish one which had less than any gusto, doncha knoo.

And then the power went out. Along with my voice. Funny how time seems to just drag on without electrically powered machines and vocal abilities. And not only was the power out, but I was also out of Star Trek; a truly sad occasion. We've started watching Voyager from the beginning and Star Trek is so lovely when your sick. Or should I say especially lovely. Ah, well.

Snow is so wet. Especially when it's not extremely cold outside. In order to avoid the complete soaking of Griffin's camera, I cut the corner off of a Zip-Lock and stuffed the camera inside, along with my hand. It worked rather well, except when the plastic slipped over the lens, like in the above picture, and when the plastic slipped over the viewfinder.

I tried and tried to get a shot of the snow that was stopped mid-fall. It was very difficult and I never really managed a shot that I'm all that happy with.

the sniffles

Hi there!

Yesterday I rearranged my room. Again. To work with I have a desk, a bed, a couch, a trunk, a dresser, and a chair with a printer on it. In a very small space. So far I've arranged it in several different ways, but this one is brand spankin' new. Anyway... Thought I'd share that with you.


[ this is a bottle on a wire. it's orange and it has a little plaque on the wire that says "creativity." thought it was a cool way to edit it... ]

I'm also sick... Always seem to get a cold/sore throat in early to mid December. I usually can evade the silly illness all year long, until *kerplunk* December comes around.



I have made one of my two holiday wallpapers, though... See what you think...

I think I'm going to go watch Robin Hood. It's been pretty good so far, we've watched a few episodes of the first season, and now we've started the second season, because it seems more interesting. :)
