Thanksgiving

This is very late, but I thought I should put together my Thanksgiving photos! Better late than never. I'm afraid I don't have a photo of every family member that was there. I'm not big on taking photos for the sake of taking photos, so I've just put together my favorites. :)

Look at that cute pink cheek. :)

The photo above is of Griffin sharpening his knife. He was also drinking wine. Logan poured one too many tiny cups of wine, so we gave it to Griffin. I thought it was a comical shot.

Griffin's bloody delicious baguettes above, and an awesome apple pie below!

Sara's chocolate mousse/pudding pie! So good. Paula Deen recipe.

Thanksgiving was lovely. I hope that we have many more like it.

Oh, and one more...

:)

Micah

These pictures keep making me grin. Hehe. I made a popping sound with my mouth to get that smile in the next picture. I love how this kid is so entertained by everything! He's started walking as of about yesterday. He's known how to walk for months, but only recently had the balance (and courage) to do it all by himself. Today he was walking around the patio balcony like a pro, digging in the basil pot and trying to get into the garden tools he's not allowed to play with. :)

Micah turned one year on September 2nd. There was a lovely party at Erin's parents' house, but Micah was so tired by cake time that he wanted nothing to do with the pumpkin pie. So today we did a little re-do of his cake & candle, using the Erin-made pumpkin cheesecake from Logan's birthday instead. (Which was awesomely delicious, by the way...)

At first he thought we were being cruel by wanting him to sit in his highchair. He perked up after nursing, though, and then he realized that he was actually allowed to both smash up the pie AND eat it. So he meticulously and slowly set out to destroy and devour as much as possible. It was ridiculously cute.

Sheesh, what crazy hair. We're gonna look back at this and laugh our tails off. :)

Happy birthday, Micah! I love you to tiny bits.

P.S. School is going awesomelyyyy. Seriously. I got really good grades on my first essay and test. Also, just received a letter saying I am eligible for the Zell Miller Scholarship, which pays $12 more per credit hour than HOPE does. Heck yes! Gonna flash that paper at the financial aid office Monday!

The beginning of fall.

We woke up the other day to find that it was chilly outside... I guess fall has found us.

I love fall. I think I love it more than spring. Winter, on the other hand - not a big fan - but I don't let that take the fun out of fall. I love the open windows and the long-sleeves + shorts or tanks + jeans. I love eating fall-ish food, like stew. I love going outside and knowing that it will be gorgeous in every way and that I won't sweat.

And what I love most of all? Sleeping under three blankets while cold air comes in my open window. That is what I love the best. (Possibly more than anything else, at all, ever.)

Excessive dressing of the babies is fun at first too. We didn't have any warm clothes for Lucy to wear, since the chill came out of nowhere, so we dressed her in Henry's old sweater, a hat I made her earlier this year (from Christina's scrap yarns) and a pair of socks I had tried knitting myself, but were much too small. :)

And on to today's pictures... I cut Quinn's hair right before everyone came for Dad's birthday tonight. It was so amazingly gorgeous out in the yard, so we trimmed in the grass. :)

Photo by Quinn, while I was snapping with Sara's camera!

I am tempted to put up a large picture of Erin's face, but I think she would cease talking to me. ;) Tonight was lovely! Now for studying tomorrow... Biology test on Tuesday morning at the crack of dawn (literally), and our first geology test on Wednesday. It's going to be some science-y studying tomorrow. Also, I handed in my first English paper Thursday... We'll see how that turns out!

September always inspires me (and October; they are glorious months), so with a little determination, you will be seeing more posts from me in the near future. :)

Au revoir!

happy birthday/harry potter

Mom's birthday breakfast scones! Which we ate the last of today... :) Mom's birthday consisted of scones for breakfast, lunch on the porch, playing with the kids, then later, watching HP7 Part I before heading over to Logan's and HP7 Part... TWO.

This year, Mom's birthday and the HP7II release date happened to be the same day. There was some fate going on there somewhere. Mom is such a loyal HP fan and it was so nice that the last movie's midnight showing landed on her birthday this year! I'm sure that it was also other loyal fans' birthdays that night, but who cares about them. :)

We loved the movie. Okay, well not all of us loved it, but I know for a fact that Mom and I did. It was so epic! I won't go into a big long review, and I will say that I realize it wasn't a watertight movie, it wasn't the best movie I've ever seen and I will point out that it was only part of a whole, based on a complicated story. All that put into account, it was brilliant. Bloody brilliant. So many things I loved about it.

Anyway, happy birthday again, Mum... I'm so glad we got to see Harry Potter that night and I'm glad you are so cool that even though it was three thirty in the morning when we got home, you were like, wanna watch something? Hell yes. <3

Love,
- caroline
